Beautiful and nearby, Denison Farm is a family farm fully committed to organic and sustainable practices. Justine, Brian, and their daughters Maggie and Suzanna grow on over 164 acres of rich bottomland, wooded ridges, pasture/hayfields, marsh, and streams. Denison is a fellow vendor at the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market and a regular source for carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, celeriac root, and greens. They also have an amazing CSA program that makes it easy (and delicious) to keep fresh local seasonal produce stocked up in your fridge.
The Peanut Principle based out of Cohoes, NY, has over 15 years experience in the nut business. Their huge selection of Gourmet Nut & Seed butters are made with the highest quality ingredients including dry roasted organic nuts and seeds. You can find them at many farmer’s markets (including at the Troy market with us) or you can shop their online store. The Peanut Principle makes everything in small handmade batches fresh every week. Our favorite is the Tree Hugger Nut Butter : A Rainforest blend of peanuts, cashews, Brazil nuts, cinnamon, banana chips, nutmeg, and vanilla. We use this in our Top Banana and any smoothie that builds with nut butter. Guilty of sneaking at least a spoonful of this stuff a day.
